What are we looking for? Hercules https://hercules.app is looking for a Staff Billing and Monetization engineer to build and own our billing, payments, and monetization infrastructure. What will you do? You will own everything billing and monetization at Hercules - Billing and subscriptions: Plans, subscriptions, entitlements, prorations, credits, and one-time charges - Usage-based billing: AI credits, Cloud credits, usage metering, and overage charges. - Payments and providers: Integrations with popular payment providers like Stripe, Adyen, Paypal and other popular payment providers. Our goal is to support as many payment methods and currencies as we can - Hercules Commerce https://hercules.app/docs/apps/commerce/get-started: The billing and payment capabilities our customers can use inside their apps to transact with their customers. Similar to Stripe Connect - Latency, reliability, and scale: Fast, resilient infrastructure with robust webhook processing, retries, and reconciliation as usage and transaction volumes grow What skills do we expect you to have? We expect candidates to be incredibly strong across all of the following areas: - Billing and payments: extensive experience with providers like Stripe, Adyen, etc., and subscriptions, usage-based billing, regulation, and more - Software fundamentals: system design, architecture, data modeling, and API design - Code and codebase quality: write clean, maintainable code.
