The role of IFS Business Solutions Architect exists within the Product - Core organization and is part of Build Place Services function. The role forms part of a 24x7x365 team, which reports to an IFS Product - Core Manager who is responsible for the operational and people management aspects of the team. All team members provide support to IFS customer base within the scope of Build Place Services offering while liaising with the relevant teams to provide seamless customer experience. The role manages multiple aspects of incident, service request, documentation and change management liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders related to our supported services. As Business Solutions Architect you will help with onboarding of new customer to the service, review and accept functional and test specifications, take part in sessions with the project team and/or customer to understand and document critical flows in customer processes, validate incoming issues and help technical team members with recreation of reported problems and validation of provided fixes. As part of the role, the Business Solutions Architect is also expected to support structured knowledge transfers and mentoring for newly joined team members. This includes sharing functional and service-specific knowledge, guiding new colleagues through customer onboarding, incident handling, documentation standards, service request processes, and escalation management, as well as helping them build confidence in collaborating with customers, project teams, and technical resources. The role should contribute to a positive learning environment by providing practical examples, reviewing work where appropriate, helping lead CBAs in the team, and encouraging consistent ways of working across the team. We are looking for experts in areas like Manufacturing, Supply Change Management, Maintenance, Finance and Mobile Work Order but at the same time we expect successful candidates to bring a versatility and a drive to learn other functional areas supported within the team.  You are expected to possess a commercial mindset, enjoy the challenge of solving reported problems with high quality, while retaining ownership and driving timely resolution and having a high standard of communications that ensure business continuity, and ultimately lead to highly referenceable customers that are more efficient and successful.  Key Duties and Accountabilities  Build a strong understanding of customer business processes, operational challenges, and strategic objectives. Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to gather, analyze, clarify, and document business requirements. Participate in discovery sessions, service reviews, and solution discussions. Help customers adopt recommended practices and gain greater value from IFS solutions. Provide a dependable point of contact for functional and business process-related inquiries within the assigned scope. Understand the design and configuration of business solutions aligned with validated customer requirements and agreed standards. Contribute functional and business process expertise to solution architecture discussions. Assist project teams in documenting solution designs, process flows, assumptions, decisions, dependencies, and business requirements. Identify opportunities to improve solution utilization, automation, integration, and operational efficiency. Support the assessment of enhancement requests and help formulate practical solution options, including impacts and constraints. Escalate design risks, cross-functional dependencies, during investigations Manage and progress customer incidents, service requests, and functional inquiries in line with agreed service levels, quality expectations, and operating procedures. Analyze business application issues and collaborate with technical and functional teams to reproduce problems, identify causes, and validate corrective actions. Support customer onboarding and service transition activities, including readiness checks, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Monitor recurring issues and service trends and contribute to root cause analysis, preventative actions, and service improvement plans. Promote consistent delivery practices that strengthen customer experience, service quality, and operational effectiveness. Support functional validation, system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance activities. Assist in planning and executing validation for service updates, release updates and customer-specific enhancements. Document test outcomes, defects, risks, and follow-up actions clearly and accurately. Develop depth in one or more IFS solution areas while building broader knowledge across connected business processes. Create and maintain knowledge articles, solution guidance, process documentation, and operational procedures. Share knowledge, lessons learned and recommend practices with colleagues and stakeholders. Stay informed about IFS product developments, relevant industry practices, and emerging technologies. Work within established design principles, delivery methods, security requirements, and governance processes. Maintain clear ownership of assigned actions and provide timely, transparent progress updates.
