ABOUT THE ROLE: Nirvana is expanding beyond commercial auto, and we’re looking for a New Programs Development to help build our next generation of insurance programs. You’ll be at the forefront of building the repeatable pipeline: uncovering attractive market opportunities, finding exceptional underwriting leaders, helping find capacity partners, and launching programs. Our approach starts with people and opportunity—not just a predetermined list of product lines. When we find an underwriting leader with deep expertise in a profitable niche, we want to explore building a program around them on the Nirvana platform. You’ll help make those connections happen. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven, new program development role for someone who already knows the insurance ecosystem and has a network they can put to work. You’ll report directly to the General Manager, and have a front row seat in shaping the future of our growth. WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Constantly expand your network across reinsurance brokers, fronting carriers, MGAs and underwriting leaders, and represent Nirvana in the market as a go-to partner for new programs. - Source program opportunities through multiple channels, including broker and carrier relationships, underwriting talent, industry events and market research, so we see the best opportunities before the broader market. - Build and manage a continuous pipeline of opportunities across multiple lines of business, from first introduction through launch. - Build the business case for each program and help secure capacity, working with reinsurers, fronting carriers and Nirvana leadership. - Collaborate with senior leadership to shape our portfolio strategy: which lines and niches we enter, and how we build a diversified, multi-line insurance platform. ABOUT YOU: - 7+ years in insurance, in reinsurance brokerage, MGA (managing general agent) program development, fronting-carrier business development or closely related roles. - An established network across reinsurance brokers, fronting carriers, MGAs and underwriting leaders that you can put to work from day one. - A proven track record of originating, structuring or launching programs and driving relationships. You've originated program opportunities or helped bring them to market yourself, rather than only managing inbound deals or an existing book. - A hands-on operator who is comfortable with ambiguity, disciplined about follow-through, and uses AI to scale your sourcing, research and pipeline work. - A clear communicator who works well with senior industry professionals and with Nirvana leadership, and keeps everyone aligned on priorities and next steps. We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary range including bonus is $137,000-$196,000. The actual base salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process.
