Lead SAP Basis Consultant / Architect (RISE)

<p><strong>Location:</strong> 100% onsite in Orange, CT or Boston, MA</p>

<p><strong>Contract Length:</strong> 1 year, with potential for extension.</p>

<p><strong>Contract Rate: </strong>$105-110<strong> </strong>per hour in USD. Final rate will be determined based on relevant experience and overall fit for the position.</p>

<p>NTT DATA is seeking an experienced <strong>SAP Basis & RISE Architect</strong> to lead the technical workstream for a complex SAP S/4HANA brownfield migration to the RISE operating model. This role will own the technical architecture and migration strategy from assessment through production cutover and stabilization, while coordinating across client, SAP, infrastructure, security, and application teams. The ideal candidate has deep SAP Basis expertise and proven end-to-end experience delivering an S/4HANA brownfield migration to SAP RISE.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Own the end-to-end SAP Basis and RISE technical architecture for the S/4HANA brownfield migration.</li>

<li>Lead current-state assessment, target architecture, technical readiness, and migration planning across SAP landscape components.</li>

<li>Coordinate technical activities and responsibilities across SAP RISE/ECS, hyperscaler, network, security, and infrastructure teams.</li>

<li>Define and govern system topology, sizing, availability, disaster recovery, connectivity, transport, monitoring, backup, and operational requirements.</li>

<li>Lead SAP technical migration activities, including SUM/DMO planning, sandbox conversions, mock cutovers, downtime optimization, and production cutover readiness.</li>

<li>Drive Basis standards for HANA, S/4HANA, interfaces, job scheduling, printing, certificates, RFCs, and technical integrations.</li>

<li>Provide technical leadership during issue resolution, risk management, dependency management, and critical program decisions.</li>

<li>Create executive-ready architecture recommendations, technical status updates, risk summaries, and decision materials for program leadership.</li>

<li>Mentor Basis engineers and ensure disciplined knowledge transfer to the future-state operations/support organization.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Required Experience:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>7+ years of progressive SAP Basis experience, including architecture-level responsibility in complex enterprise SAP environments.</li>

<li>Must have one proven end-to-end SAP S/4HANA brownfield project that included migration to SAP RISE / RISE with SAP.</li>

<li>Deep hands-on knowledge of S/4HANA technical architecture, SAP HANA, system administration, upgrades/conversions, and landscape management.</li>

<li>Strong practical experience with SUM/DMO, system copy/migration methods, downtime planning, cutover execution, and post-migration stabilization.</li>

<li>Clear understanding of the SAP RISE operating model, including customer vs. SAP/ECS responsibilities, service requests, connectivity, and operational governance.</li>

<li>Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, backup/recovery, security, certificates, networking, and integration dependencies in hybrid/cloud SAP landscapes.</li>

<li>Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and drive decisions across client, partner, and SAP stakeholders.</li>

<li>Executive-level written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical risks and tradeoffs into clear business decisions.</li>

<li>Strong ownership, structured problem solving, escalation management, and ability to perform effectively during high-pressure migration and cutover windows.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>Required Equipment: </strong>This role requires the use of a personal laptop. Candidates must be comfortable with company security software and device management tools being installed on their laptop as part of the onboarding process and for the duration of the engagement.</p>
