SUMMARY OF HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SKYLO We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Skylo’s Finance team and support the accounting operations of a growing global technology company. You will play a key role in the monthly close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with the broader Finance team and cross-functional partners to ensure our financial records are accurate, timely, and scalable as the business continues to grow. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the details while also looking for ways to improve processes and build stronger accounting infrastructure. RESPONSIBILITIES - Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process - Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and other general ledger activity - Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules - Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, fixed assets, and other accounting activities as needed - Review financial activity and investigate unusual transactions or variances - Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting - Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with GAAP - Assist with annual audits, tax filings, and other compliance requirements by preparing schedules and supporting documentation - Partner with FP&A, People, Legal, Procurement, and other teams to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely - Help maintain and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation - Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual accounting processes - Support implementation and improvement of finance systems and workflows as Skylo scales - Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and accounting projects WHAT WE LOOK FOR - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - 5+ years of relevant accounting experience - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles - Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills - High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams - Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment NICE TO HAVE - CPA or progress toward CPA certification - Experience at a high-growth technology company - Experience with SaaS, telecommunications, hardware, or other technology businesses - Experience with ERP and financial systems such as NetSuite - Experience supporting audits and implementing accounting controls - Experience working with international entities or global accounting operations WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE EXCITING Skylo is building a new category of global connectivity at the intersection of wireless, satellite, cloud, and consumer technology. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant training.
