ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is a Y Combinator-backed company looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer based to work directly with enterprise customers and help them get maximum value from an AI workforce platform. This is a highly hands-on role that combines full-stack engineering, AI/ML application development, customer-facing implementation, and technical problem-solving. You’ll work with customers from onboarding through ongoing optimization, building integrations and solutions that address real operational needs. You’ll also contribute directly to product development by building features, MVPs, and scalable solutions based on customer requirements and feedback. This role is best suited for an independent engineer who enjoys owning problems end-to-end, working directly with customers, and moving quickly in a fast-paced startup environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Customer-Facing Engineering: Work directly with customers from onboarding through ongoing usage, helping integrate and optimize AI solutions. - Full-Stack Development: Build applications, tools, and customer solutions using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python. - AI/ML Development: Build and iterate on AI/ML applications, including LLM prompting, voice tuning, and transcription optimization. - Integrations & APIs: Build and manage integrations with third-party systems and APIs to ensure reliable customer workflows. - Product Development: Build new features, MVPs, and scalable solutions that directly address customer needs and business outcomes. - Customer Optimization: Use customer feedback and evolving requirements to continuously improve AI solutions and workflows. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to deliver customer-specific solutions. - Project Ownership: Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining speed, quality, and customer impact. - Technical Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into practical recommendations for non-technical stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS - Strong full-stack engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js. - Hands-on proficiency with Python. - Experience building and implementing AI/ML applications. - Practical experience with LLMs, prompting, and AI optimization. - Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers and non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Strong ownership mentality with the ability to work independently and make decisions without heavy oversight. - Comfortable working in an environment where priorities change quickly and engineers are expected to solve problems end-to-end. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience at a FAANG or high-growth AI company, or as a founder/early engineer of a startup you built from zero - Prior forward deployed, solutions, or sales engineering experience: you've shipped production code directly in customer environments - Hands-on AI/ML experience: LLMs, voice AI, agent workflows, or production ML systems - Strong data architecture and system design skills: you can scope an integration, design the pipeline, and own it end to end - Comfortable in front of enterprise customers: you can run a technical discovery, push back on a VP, and translate business problems into working systems COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS - Location: Hybrid, CDMX, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. - Compensation: Competitive salary in USD + stock options. - Benefits: Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST 3–6 MONTHS - Successfully onboard and support customers through technical implementation. - Build and ship customer-facing features, integrations, and MVPs with limited oversight. - Become proficient in the company's AI platform, APIs, and technical stack. - Improve AI workflows through effective prompting, voice configuration, transcription optimization, and continuous iteration. - Establish strong working relationships with customers, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success. - Take ownership of multiple customer projects while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes on tight timelines.
